In my long road back battling Ulcerative Colitis and fighting to get healthy, it’s been hard to find joy when I’m not able to do what I love, be in social situations, or eat the foods I want. Although most days my energy is very limited and I don’t even leave the house beyond my backyard, spending time with the ball is—and always has been—my escape.

There are thousands of things to practice that require minimal movement and energy but can fully immerse the mind and body. This little pattern took me 5-10 minutes to succeed at and during that time, I was fully focused on the ball.

It’s not the skills I’ve developed over the years, but more the methodology behind training and mastery, that I find so engrained in who I am. I’m deeply grateful for that relationship with my sport and my body. Anyway, enough deep talk — go try this challenge and see if you can complete the pattern (it’s not as easy as it looks)!
