Tuesday turned out to be the worst day of my life. After watching him fight and overcome so many battles with his health over the past 14 years, that night I lost my father. On a day where we’re supposed to give thanks, the pain and hurt I feel right now is hard to mask but I’m still very thankful for a lot of things. I’m thankful and lucky for the 31 years I got to call him dad! During that time I learned so much from him whether it be about life, school, on the soccer pitch, or from watching him fight for life in the hospital. The man I am today is a reflection of him and who he was. He was my best friend growing up. Everyone knew us as “Big Mo” and “lil Mo” and naturally he passed his love and passion for soccer on to me. Dad just know that although you are no longer here physically, your spirit lives on through me and the rest of the fam. Words will NEVER be able to express who you are to me. I know I have an angel watching over me and just know that Lil Mo is still doing everything in my power to make you proud and be the man you taught me to be. I love you dad and wish you were still here but I know God has a master plan and you’re now resting in peace and pain free. Until we meet again.
