Yo era un niño que, como tantos otros, soñaba con jugar al fútbol. Me esforcé, sacrifiqué muchas cosas y me acerqué a hacerlo realidad.

Crecí y empecé a soñar con jugar en el Real Madrid. Aprendí, dejé casi todo de lado... y se cumplió.

Pero uno no debe dejar nunca de trabajar, por mucho que crezca. Ni de soñar, por mucho que se cumplan algunos sueños.

Hoy me voy del Real Madrid, de la que ha sido mi casa durante 10 años. Me voy sin nada que reprocharme y sin nada que reprochar.

“Trabajo duro, conciencia tranquila”. Alguien me dijo esa frase una vez y define bien mi vida. No he dejado de aplicarla cada día. Como no he dejado de darlo todo ni de defender los valores que desde que era un niño me enseñaron.

Me llevo grandes recuerdos, muchos amigos, títulos inolvidables en noches mágicas y el respeto y cariño de todos.

Gracias por vuestro apoyo y por vuestra leal exigencia. Llevaré siempre en el corazón cada día que defendí esta camiseta y que escuché vuestro aliento.

I was a boy who, like so many others, dreamed of playing football. I worked hard, sacrificed a lot and got closer to making that dream come true.

I grew and began to dream of playing for Real Madrid. I learned, I left almost everything to one side... and it came true.

But nobody should ever stop working, however much they grow. Nor stop dreaming, however much some dreams may come true.

Today, I leave Real Madrid, which has been my home for 10 years. I leave without reproach for myself and with no complaints.
